Your first dermatology visit in Seoul

A clinic visit is easier when you arrive with one concern, a short medical history and a clear budget. The consultation should give you enough information to pause and decide.

Many Seoul dermatology clinics see international visitors, especially in areas such as Gangnam, Myeongdong and Hongdae. English support varies by branch and by day, so confirm the language you need when booking.

Before you book

Choose a clinic based on the concern you want assessed. A clinic that is convenient for a quick facial may not be the right place for a medical skin condition or a procedure that needs follow-up.

  “Red acne marks on my cheeks” gives the doctor more direction than “I want better skin.”

  Include prescription skincare, recent isotretinoin use and previous reactions.

What happens at the consultation

You may first speak with a coordinator who asks about your concern and budget. A doctor should assess you before a medical procedure. Ask who is making the diagnosis, who will perform the procedure and which device or product will be used.

Clinics often suggest several options at different price points. Take notes or ask for a written treatment plan. You do not need to choose every suggested add-on.

Price questions worth asking

Promotional prices can exclude tax, numbing cream, medication or aftercare. Ask for the final amount before paying.

Before you leave the clinic

Request written aftercare instructions in a language you understand. Confirm when you can wear makeup, exercise, drink alcohol and use active skincare again. Save the clinic’s contact channel and take a photo of any medication label.
